Dear Friends,
Copenhagen has failed God’s earth and our children.
For a year we have been mobilising, praying, marching, writing letters,
putting on films, doing talks, pushing the boundaries, all to push our
leaders to seal a deal to save creation at Copenhagen. And now we have no
deal, no date for a deal and no realistic hope for a deal in the near
future.
Despite this, somehow we don’t feel depressed and hopeless. The momentum
building up to Copenhagen with The Wave and Copenhagen itself brought many
people into this movement for change that is beginning to form. The climate
fasters, the large faith groups’ presence at The Wave and the 350.org vigils
show a new awareness of the spirituality of the solution. And the many
organisations campaigning on the road to Copenhagen are all absolutely
committed to continue the struggle on the road from Copenhagen. So are we.
And we hope you are too.
Here are a few small actions to let our leaders know that we will not go
away:
1. Friends of the Earth, -
2. Oxfam
3. Christian Aid
4. And four Greenpeace activists face Christmas in jail after
they held up banners reading: "Politicians Talk, Leaders Act", during the
Friday session of the climate summit. Please help them by writing to the
Danish Embassy requesting their immediate release.

Wishing you a peaceful Christmas and a hope-filled 2010,
