Some Pointers for Preachers

September - four Sundays - three years - 12 Creation/Conservation themes
A three year cycle for four Sundays each Season of Creation has been adopted by:

Keith Innes (UK), who has written Ecological notes for the Common Lectionary has now written notes for 2007 and 2008.

Ocean Sunday, Fauna Sunday, Storm Sunday and Cosmos Sunday ----------------------- 2007

Forest Sunday, Land Sunday, Outback/Wilderness Sunday and  River Sunday ------- 2008

(1st Sept to mid Oct was set up as "Creation Time by the European Christian Environment Network),

2007:

• September 1     Creation Day

• September  2    1 st Sunday in Creation -  Ocean Sunday

• September  9    2 nd Sunday in Creation - Fauna Sunday (N.B in Australia they have Fauna and Flora Sunday

• September 16   3 rd Sunday in Creation - Storm Sunday

• September 23   4 th Sunday in Creation - Cosmos Sunday (N.B in Australia they have Social Justice Sunday)
