Kidzone: Earth Care for Lent

As part of their Eco-Congregation activities, St John's (Hurst Green) and All Hallow's (Milton, Lancashire) organised a Lenten programme for children (ages 5-12) that helped them to make connection between faith and environmental issues and have a good time in the process! Read more.

A Rocha is a Christian nature conservation organisation. It produces resource pack each year for Environment Sunday. The 2006 pack includes DVDs and powerpoint presentations for media savvy youngsters!

Tearfund is a Christian relief and development organisation that works in partnership with local churches and Christian agencies to help the world's poorest communities. Climate change is one of its main focuses. Visit Tearfund's youth site for loads of resources for youth, youth leaders, students, and children.

CAFOD, the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development, works in a range of areas, including Environment, Food and Farming, and Land. Check out their resources for primary schools, secondary schools and youth leaders.

Ringsfield is a Christian foundation, involved in research and development for social and emotional learning and earth education. One of the Centre Directors is Chris Walton, the editor of Green Christian. Ringsfield is located in the Suffolk countryside, and offers:
- Environmental programmes, workshops and sessions to children and young people
- Training for Christian youth leaders in environmental education
- Resources for leaders to run their own programmes, workshops and sessions
- Guidance about resources and information available from other sources like the Institute for Earth Education, A Rocha and LEAs
- A venue for experiencing programmes and training

Reflection Gardens , aims to make connections between issues in ecology and Christian beliefs, and to present these in a visual/physical way. It runs programmes, courses and retreats for various groups including youth groups. It is situation on the edge of Cannock Chase, Staffordshire, some of the old woodland in England . Next door is a large camp site for young people's groups, with a variety of camping options, see http://www.beaudesert.org/ . Reflections is run by CEL members Revd Christine and Mr John Polhill.
