CEL is sad to learn that Howard Wass died on 10 October - while playing table tennis we are told.

Howard Wass was a Methodist Local preacher and Organic Farmer in the North Yorkshire Moors. He ran several workshops for Christian Ecology Link - at the National Conference and for Ripon and Harrogate Christian Ecology Group. (Pic. from 1988)

Barbara Echlin writes:"He was one of the pioneers in organic farming. I'll never forget him showing us round the large airy sweet smelling barn where his cattle were over-wintering -- it was so peaceful, and his stock looked so contented -- it was like being in a cathedral."
