The Conservation Activities were carried out by Members of Settle Northern Friends Peace Group and Settle Friends
- Involvement in the recycling of paper in Settle
- Involvement in "Tools for Self-Reliance"
- Discussion on genetically modified plants and other environmental topics leading to letters being sent to the government and supermarkets
- Some members organise the purchase of organically grown vegetables, others grow and distribute them: Growing With Grace
- Some members belong to the Local Economy Trading Scheme
- Ethical Investment of Funds
- Quakers print re-use labels. These are sold in the Traidcraft shop held in the Friends Meeting House and part organised by the Friends
- Making and selling cards from own photos. Proceeds sent to child war victims in Russia
- One member has a second hand bookshop
- Various members work for nature conservation projects in the Ribblesdale area
- Weekly collection for charity and environment projects
- Recycling of used postage stamps
- Part of Meeting house garden reserved for wild plants
- Informal organising of ordering and use of food co-op (Suma). This includes environmentally friendly cleaning materials
